Sometimes I think that everything goes wrong and sometimes you can be very happy. If you stay at home reading and listening music everything can be all right. But if you start thinking about reality everything goes wrong. Life is like that.

L-Khan. One of the most important exponents of what is call the tonti electro pop movement in Spain.

I am so happy today is my blog one hundred. I know that I should have reach it at least a few weeks ago, but I have been extremely busy, alcohol is flowing again so is a big investment of time.

I have some deadlines nearby so I am getting worry and of course starting to think and work about it. This weekend was really intense, thinking about partying, on Friday some very good parties and yesterday Ollin Kan and the Nokia Trends festival with The Rapture, Art Brut and Kasabian, the most interesting thing about the festival was the open bar, there have been some years since the last time that I assisted to an open bar.

Today I have to work on my thesis, thinking about contemporary societies with a Latin-American view is really hard because we are in the middle of nowhere, and we have the most traditional ways of thinking and living and also the most modern ones.

Escucho: Una banda, al parecer francesa, llamada Feist.

Hace una semana que no agrego nada al blog, la cuestión es que es final de semestres yo todos los trabajos se acumulan, sin embargo, no hay mucho que contar. Lo más relevante ha sido el Ollin Kan, el festival organizado por la delegación Tlalpan el cual es dedicado a las culturas en resistencia.

DEPECHE MODE

Por fin después de 13 años, sí 13 largos años, evidentemente no fui la primera vez que vinieron, pero desde que los conozco, hace aproximadamente 10 años, ha sido de esas bandas que verla sería infaltable.

Se había hablado mucho de las grandes producciones que suelen traer y creo que cubrió las expectativas de la mayoría los asistentes (50 mil), grandes pantallas, una gran bola de metal con diversos mensajes, etc. Lo interesante en la producción fue la creatividad en esta y no tanto el que fuera una producción sobrecargada.

Después de tanta espera era evidente que no me podía perder lo dos conciertos (4 y 5 de mayo). Y si alguien me preguntara cuál fue el mejor, yo diría que cada uno tuvo sus partes interesantes, a parte que en uno estuve en las gradas bastante lejos del escenario y en el otro en la explanada del foro Sol muy cerca del escenario. O sea que en definitiva la distancia entre uno y otro sí me causó una percepción muy distinta.

El grupo interpreto la mayoría de sus éxitos como "Walking in my Shoes", "I Feel You", "A Question of time", "World in my Eyes", "Enjoy the Silence" y sin duda una de las canciones más coreadas y conocidas "Personal Jesus". El y que sólo tocaron en el segundo concierto: “Let me try again”.

Sin duda ha sido uno de los mejores conciertos que ha vivido la ciudad de México desde el arribo de los conciertos internacionales.

MACO

Yesterday I went to Maco (Mexico Arte Contemporáneo) that is an art expo with more of 70 galleries of all over the world. The good thing about these expos is that in the same place you can appreciate the tendencies of contemporary art.

There are also the stands of art magazines that also serve as a guide of the new tendencies or of the new art magazines in the market. This is the 3rd edition of Maco and every year you can see new things and remember the old ones. I think that this kind activity is a good effort to show that Mexico is an attractive place for showing and selling art.

Last year there were 19,000 assistants, I hope that this one there were more. The problem that I perceived is that contemporary art, as art in general, but is more remarked in contemporary art, is limited to a very little portion of people. The generality of the persons are used to very traditional art expressions and these new expressions sometimes can’t be well understood or are disqualified at the first sight. So this kind of expositions can serve as a very good introduction to all kind of persons to this new kind expressions of art, that sometimes differ completely form the traditional ones.
